    An Alternative to the Favourites in Cheltenham’s Feature Races

    Lots of punters will undoubtedly recall Annie Power’s famous fall in the Mares’ Hurdle at 2015 Cheltenham. The short-priced favourite seemed to be guaranteed a victory – a fourth for trainer Willie Mullins on the day – when disaster struck; the mare tumbled at the last, crashing through the fence, with Ruby Walsh lucky not to be seriously hurt. Estimates vary, but it is suggested that the fall saved bookmakers £50 million. Punters around the UK would have regretfully torn up betting slips containing the four-timer of Douvan, Un De Sceaux, Faugheen and Annie Power.
